Pop culture quite possibly may enable mass culture to implode much quicker than it might have done on its own.

Is there any better barometer for how dissociated we've become from reality than whether we care if this couple has twins, or not?
Leaving aside such trivial concerns as what we eat, day to day, or how those of us on the edge (without huge Hollywood incomes) manage ....
