Homeward bound!

The above is one of many gorgeous shots my Dana has taken in her sojourn through Mongolia these past few weeks. She posted that one and others on her trip blog.

Proud? Me? Her mom? Naaah. *big grin*

Now she's on her way home -- I can't wait to see all of her photos, some of which I hope to post here!

Wow...sounds like an amazing trip. I'm jealous. I have one cousin in Turkey and one in Spain right now, so I'm jealous of all these travelers...

I'm sort of content to do my own traveling vicariously, anymore, what with high ticket prices, all the hassle, etc. I wouldn't mind taking a ship -- though cruises are prohibitively expensive.

One of my brothers is a former Merchant Marine engineer. Back in the '70s and '80s, the cargo ships used to take on a small number of passengers, at a very low price. It wasn't opulent like a cruise ship, but was clean and comfortable, with very good food. Not sure if people can do that nowadays.
